Mack Brown on New NIL Rules

The NCAA’s new policy allows college athletes to earn compensation for their fame or celebrity status by using their name, image, or likeness. Since July 1, 2021, there have been countless examples of current college athletes being compensated for camps, autograph sessions, merchandise sales, in-kind gifts for product endorsements, cash transactions for national or local commercials, paid appearances, and many more.

Hear from Coach Brown about why NIL and Heels4Life will be pivotal for the program moving forward.

Why do we do it?

Heels4Life serves as a support and facilitating system for UNC Football in the new NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) era so that current players can keep their focus on the field and in the classroom. Our goal is to make sure that these players are able to maximize the full potential of the branding that they are building while competing for the University of North Carolina, this will enable UNC to remain a great destination for the top talent in the country. The NCAA’s new policy allows college athletes to earn compensation for their fame or celebrity status by using their name, image, or likeness.

There have been countless examples of current college athletes being compensated for their NIL. These include camps, autograph sessions, merchandise sales, in kind gifts for product endorsements, cash transactions for national or local commercials, paid appearances, and many more.  Whether you’re an individual or a company, we encourage you to get involved so that you can be a part of the success of the UNC Football program for years to come.
